Gungellan Hotel
This hotel is in Freeling, about 60 km north of Adelaide. If you have seen the television series "McLeod's Daughters" you will recognise it as one of the locations used. The final series was shot late last year, so it has resumed life as a normal pub now. It was built in 1867 as the Railway Hotel.

I've seen a few episodes, but don't remember this...Fun picture though!!hughugs
are they keeping the name? it's so cool seeing these photos!!
D - I don't know whether they will, but if I were the new owners I would; it ought to be a tourist attraction. I will let you know if I find out more.
i'm so happy! i love mcleods daughters, and have always wanted to go there! my nan and pop are travelling around australia at the moment, and they went into freeling at this pub and didn't realise it was the pub used in mcleods daughters until they asked a worker there what the mcleods tea towels or something where, and she said that it was the place where it was filmed! they bought me some stuff, too, and i'm so happy. they were only there yesterday, and they are coming back in january, and i can't wait to see them!!!! thanks nan & pop!
It's lovely to see the Gungellan Hotel. I came across McLeod's Daughters on Netflix recently and am hooked. Currently watching Series 2. I love the outdoors. The scenery from the show really feeds my imagination. It's good to know that the Gungellan Hotel is a real place and not just a film set. Can't wait to visit Australia.
