History mural

This is part of a large 1982 wall mural at Prospect entitled History of Australia.

This interesting mural depicts many scenes that are significant in Australia's history, but not necessarily South Australia.
  • Convict labour and soldiers on guard were commonplace in the Eastern states, but South Australia was established as a free settlers' colony.
  • Ned Kelly, a bushranger, was a Victorian.
  • The Eureka flag and the Eureka Stockade were at Ballarat in Victoria.
The art work at the base of the mural is representative of Australia's indigenous culture.
