I drew lines on a Google map to show the layout of the street circuit. The main stands and other facilities I showed on Wednesday are built alongside the part of the track that runs through Victoria Park Racecourse (no longer a racecourse). To see the official map click here.

More Clipsal 500 Preparations
This is a photo looking west along Wakefield Road; on the left are more seating stands that have been erected and central in the photo is a pedestrian overpass ready for when this street becomes part of the Clipsal 500 racetrack.

Edward Gibbon Wakefield (1796-1862)
Hi Gordon,
I guess your WAKEFIELD road was named after the Edward Gibbon Wakefield where we have a street under the same name near to the university of Auckland.
In the South island of NZ, it is reported that our skys have an orangy glow from the fires of Melbourne. Do you feel the heat in Adelaide?
Ann - thanks for your contributions; there are many historic links between our two countries. Yesterday and today it was rather hazy here due to smoke from the Victorian bushfires.
