2010 Cancer Council Helpline Classic

Lance Armstrong was a real crowd pleaser when he lead a breakaway group in today's 51 kilometre street circuit preview race; a prelude to the Tour Down Under which starts on Tuesday.

In the final lap of the race Team Sky was being hotly challenged by Team Columbia, but it was New Zealander Greg Henderson from Team Sky who finally claimed victory.

AWESOME photos! It looks like they all held the pose for you! Those shots could be in a biking magazine, Gordon!

I'm not blogged for a while and I come back to an absolutely stunning image. These really are Top notch, and that's from someone who photographed those motorbikes.

Great shot, and thanks for helping New Zealand win.

Up here in the Gold Coast, there is a heat wave. What about Adelaide?

Some great shots, especially at the speeds the racers were moving. It was a fun event to watch.

Thanks for positive comments on the shots. At last I think I am getting the hang of taking action sports photos.

Thank goodness for digital photography - if I had used film it would have cost a fortune - I threw a lot out!
