Koala
This was not taken at the zoo; on my bicycle ride last Sunday I spotted this koala in a tree at the side of the road. This is one of the reasons I like bike riding; you see much more than when driving and you can stop pretty much anywhere to take a photo.

Hi Gordon,
You must have telescopic eyes to see this koala. Good job!
I have been to the bush in Queensland, and have never seen a koala. But then, I was in a car. I agree with you about riding a bike, and stopping when you wish. Of late, i started walking to look for things of interests to photograph.
Thanks for your photos and commentary.
Cheers,
Ann
Really ... beside the road. How extraordinary. I have never seen a koala in the wild. What a joy it must have been for you.
Are you in an area where you can see kangaroos in the wild?
zbtjkarapilot - I have seen kangaroos in bushland not that far out from Adelaide, but have yet to get a good close up photo.
When I lived in the country I frequently saw them; had to be really careful when driving, especially at night as they often jump out in front of vehicles.
I am sucker for these cuties. In fact Australian wildlife fascinates me anyway. Adorable.
Oh I love the koala. It looked so cute.
I'd love to be able to spot a koala on my bike rides. It will never happen of course but I do see Elks every now and then.
This is sooo cute!
