The 'State Of Steam' promotion was held in Rundle Mall this weekend. South Australia has several tourist steam trains and their operators had displays promoting them. Also on display, courtesy of the National Railway Museum, was Skipper.This 2'0" gauge locomotive was built in South Australia by Perry Engineering in 1946 for the Millaquin Sugar Mill at Bundaburg (Queensland). It ceased operation in 1978; steam locomotives were replaced with diesel locomotives.
