Noisy miner
The other day I visited the Rose Garden in the Botanical Gardens once again. Many of these small (24-28cm) birds were active in the garden. I think I have identified them correctly; the noisy miners frequent areas where there is a good supply of nectar and insects. They are found throughout the eastern states and South Australia.

Cheek by jowl with nature. A great bird picture.
He's such a pretty bird!!hughugs
I always thought they were "minah" birds - my dad was a miner but he never sang!
having done some research now I discover that the "noisy miner" found all over Australia is not the same as the myna, mynah or minah bird more commonly found in India.
Lovely photo of the bird. Dont think you can see any birds in my blog...lol. I dont have the patience and sometimes I am so excited that I frigthen the birds away...lol. Thanks for your comments in my blog and I have the same opinion as you for that post. Have a nice weekend.
